Tipu Sultan of Mysore

"It is far better to live for two days like a lion than for two hundred hears like a lamb." These valiant words came from the lips of Tipu Sultan, the famed martyr in the cause of freedom. His own life established the truth of this statement. He brawled like a lion against the British for safeguarding India's freedom and died like a lion on the battle field. The epitaph on his tomb describes him as the "King of Martyrs" and is a fitting compliment to his memory. Read more
