Saina Nehwal - Ace Shuttler of India


The 20 year old Indian Ace Shuttler Saina Nehwal is the first Indian woman to win a super series tournament (The Super Series tournament is roughly equivalent to a Grand Slam in tennis) when she occupy the 2009 Indonesian Super Series and Currently ranked number 3 in the world by BWF. Saina is the only Indian woman to reach the singles quarterfinals at the Olympics and the first Indian to win the World Junior Badminton Championships. Saina Nehwal made history on June 21, 2009, becoming the first Indian to win a Super Series tournament by clinching the Indonesian Open at Jakarta with a dazzling victory over higher-ranked Chinese Lin Wang. On June 20, 2010, Saina won her second career super series title by lifting the Singapore Open Super series. Saina's highest career ranking is No 2. read more
