Religion is a way of life in India it is a central part of the entire Indian tradition. For the majority of Indians, religion infuses every aspect of life, from common-place daily chores to education and politics. Secular India is home to Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism and other countless religious traditions. Hinduism is the leading faith, practiced by nearly 80 per cent of the population. Besides Hindus, Muslims are the most well-known religious group and are in integral part of Indian society. Indeed, India has the second largest populace of Muslims in the world after Indonesia.
